Dined at Ida Thai last evening with friends and ordered the Three Flavor Fish, which was a very lightly fried red snapper served with broccoli, carrots and another vegetable, a special in- restaurant sweet and sour in-restaurant made sauce, and rice. This selection was more than awesome and I give this dish a five-star rating without equivocation. My friends had other dishes, one the soft shell crab, and were equally pleased. The food is authentic thai with a rather large menu.
The service was excellent and staff very friendly and attentive. If you like Thai food this is the best in town, in my opinion, and I would recommend giving them a try. You will not be disappointed.

I’m not one to blow smoke for restaurants in Wilmington or New Hanover, but… for my mother’s birthday I wanted to take her somewhere new and I have tried many of the “finer” establishments in New Hanover and Wilmington area. This little Thai restaurant was one of the most welcoming, accommodating, and delicious restaurants that I have had the pleasure to enjoy in a very long time. Like I said, you don’t have to believe me try it all for yourself. They are accommodating to vegan and gluten-free customers. Almost an entire menu accommodates to vegan and gluten-free. My stepfather who has a severe gluten allergy and who happens to be vegan by choice was not disappointed by their cuisine. My mother who is a Michelin star chef was also not disappointed by their cuisine. This is a gem in New Hanover County near Carolina Beach. Don’t take my word for it. Go outing try it out for yourself. The prices are reasonable and the food is absolutely divine.

Food was good. Very happy to see that they used real crab in their fried wontons. Thai Tea was one of the best I ever had. The crab fried rice was delicious. Restaurant was very clean. Service was excellent. The owner saw us come in and even thanked us for coming. Loved that they put me and my family at the back booth with the 4 kids we had with us. Decoration was beautiful. So happy they had clean bathrooms with a changing table too. Definitely will come back next time we come for vacation again. —JD Yang
